Who I am

This website, theseosavant.com, is operated by The SEO Savant, an SEO consultancy based in Phoenix, Arizona. When this policy says “I,” it means The SEO Savant; when it says “you,” it means anyone visiting this site or contacting me through it. Questions about anything on this page can go to the contact page.

What I collect, and where it comes from

There are only three ways information about you reaches me:

• Information you give me directly. When you fill out a contact or audit-request form, you choose what to share — typically your name, email address, phone number, your website address, and whatever you tell me about your business. If you email me, I have what you sent.
• Analytics. Like most websites, this one uses analytics tools to understand which pages people read and how they found them. This data is aggregated and doesn’t tell me who you are — it tells me that a page was read, not that you read it.
• Server logs. The server that hosts this site automatically records standard technical information about every visit: IP address, browser type, the pages requested, and timestamps. This is how the web works everywhere, and I use it only for security and keeping the site running.

That’s the whole list. There are no hidden trackers scraping your contacts, no data brokers buying profiles of you on my behalf, and no gated content designed to harvest emails. If a piece of information isn’t useful for answering you or improving the site, I’d rather not hold it.

Cookies

This site uses a small number of cookies: the ones analytics tools need to count visits, and the ones WordPress needs to function. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, and this site will keep working. I don’t use cookies to follow you around the internet with ads.

How I use what I collect

Four purposes, and only these:

• To respond to you. If you ask about the Revenue Audit or anything else, I use your contact details to answer.
• To do the work. If we end up working together, the information you share about your business is used to deliver that engagement — and nothing else.
• To improve the site. Aggregated analytics tell me which articles are useful and which pages lose people, so I can write better ones.
• To keep the site secure. Server logs help identify abuse, spam, and attacks.

I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Ever. I also don’t add you to a mailing list because you filled out a contact form. If I ever run a newsletter, joining it will be a separate, deliberate checkbox — unchecked by default.

Who else touches this data

I don’t share your information with third parties for their marketing. A small set of service providers process data on my behalf because the site can’t run without them: the company that hosts this website, the email provider that delivers messages, the form plugin that passes your submission to my inbox, and the analytics provider described above. Each of them handles data under their own privacy terms, and each gets only what their job requires. Beyond that, I would disclose information only if the law genuinely required it — a valid legal demand, not a marketing inquiry dressed as one.

Case studies and teardowns

I publish case studies about client engagements and teardowns of public websites. Case studies are anonymized — names, identifying details, and anything a client shared in confidence stay out of them. Teardowns use only what any visitor can see on a public website. If you become a client, nothing about your business gets published without your explicit okay first.

How long I keep things

Form submissions and email correspondence are kept as long as they’re useful for the conversation or engagement they belong to, and for the record-keeping any business has to do. Analytics data is retained on the schedule set in the analytics tool, then aggregated or deleted. If you’d like your information removed sooner, ask — see the next section.

Your rights

You can ask me at any time what personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Send the request through the contact page or reply to any email from me, and I’ll handle it directly — there’s no department to route you through; it’s me. Depending on where you live, laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the EU’s GDPR may give you additional formal rights. I honor the spirit of those rights for everyone, regardless of jurisdiction, because it’s the reasonable way to treat people.

Children

This site is a business-to-business consultancy and isn’t directed at children under 13. I don’t knowingly collect information from them, and if I learn I have, I’ll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, I’ll update this page and change the effective date at the top. I won’t quietly weaken it and hope nobody reads the diff.
